The Steel Mate Baby Bell is an anti-abandonment device designed to alert parents when a child remains in a car seat after the engine is turned off. This on-board child alert system combines audible and visual warnings to prevent accidental child abandonment.
The Baby Bell features a sensing pad that fits under the seat cushion and a display unit that plugs into your vehicle's cigarette lighter socket. When you start the car, the display glows green. If the engine shuts off while your child is still in the seat, an audible alarm sounds and the display flashes red. The system also monitors proper seating position during driving—if your child shifts out of correct position, three alarm beeps and a red display alert you to adjust them.
